Top 5 Wednesday was started in November 2013 and is a very much active group on Goodreads, so head over to Goodreads to join the group and keep up with all the topics for the month. I thought it was such a fun idea to have weekly books related prompts that I could answer and share with all of you.

May 8th: Books You Save in a Fire

Realistically speaking, if there ever was a fire, get to safety FIRST! But let’s say your family, loved ones, and/or pets were already safe and escaped, but you had the chance to save some of your favorite books before fleeing danger. Which books would you choose to save and bring with you to safety?

This hot man wants to brush her hair, feed her snacks, and take bubble baths together? Is this real life? But Wells is technically her boss and an athlete falling for his fangirl would be ridiculous… right?

My current read at the moment, so of course I have to run and grab this book. I can’t imagine anything worse than enjoying a book, getting really into it, and then not being able to finish it. My worst nightmare.

2. Naked in Death by J.D. Robb


Here is the novel that started it all- the first book in J.D. Robb’s number-one New York Times-bestselling In Death series, featuring New York homicide detective Lieutenant Eve Dallas and Roarke.

One of my favourite long-running crime novel series. This book is what made me love crime procedural fiction books.

3. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Could you survive on your own in the wild, with every one out to make sure you don’t live to see the morning?

But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weight survival against humanity and life against love.

This is one of my favourite books– ever. If I have to choose a book series to save, I would run straight to the place on my shelves where my copy of The Hunger Games is waiting. This book is what got me into reading and I still treasure this series to this day.

4. Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton

One of the most compelling aspects of this book is Alderton’s honesty and vulnerability. She doesn’t shy away from discussing the messy, complicated nature of love and the often unrealistic expectations society places on relationships. I learned so much about love– not just romantic, but also platonic love, friendship and self-love.

5. Holiday Romance by Catherine Walsh

She’s meant to be catching flights, not catching feelings…

Molly and Andrew are just trying to get home to Ireland for the holidays, when a freak snowstorm grounds their flight.

Nothing romantic has ever happened between them: they’re friends and that’s all. A totally gorgeous and escapist friends-to-lovers festive romance with a swoon-worthy hero. Perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella, Mhairi Macfarlane, and Christina Lauren.

All that being said, I guess it’s safe to say that I will be recommending this book to everyone and their dog. This book is a gem amongst the treasure trove of romance novels. If you are ever in the mood for a perfectly written, swoon-worthy holiday romance then this book is for you. This is probably the best romance books I have ever read– of course I’m going to safe it from a fire.
