Hi friends!
I’ve been on a book tag binge lately. It could be due to the fact that I’ve been haven’t been talking to real people (aside from my family) during the past week. I went on a few day outs, and that is more than enough people interactions for me– basically, I’ve been deprived of proper socialisation; hence why I’ve been searching for questions to ask myself and answer them myself.
I found this book tag created by Readabits and just had to share my answers.
Questions:
1. When do you find yourself reading? Morning, afternoon, evening, whenever you get the chance or all the time?
2. What is your best setting to read in?
3. What do you do first – Read or Watch?
4. What form do you prefer? Audiobook, E-book or physical book?
5. Do you have a unique habit when you read?
6. Do book series have to match?

1. When do you find yourself reading? Morning, afternoon, evening, whenever you get the chance or all the time?
Whenever I get the chance.
2. What is your best setting to read in?
Since the weathers been getting slightly colder and less sunny, I have been reading in bed. I like to read surrounded by fluffy pillows, a cozy throw and with the windows partially open to let some air and sunlight in. I also prefer reading in complete silence– it helps me focus and immerse myself in the book that I am reading.
3. What do you do first – Read or Watch?
Read. Always. I don’t watch films or tv shows without having read the book (much to my movie-loving sister’s annoyance).. The rare time that I do end up watching the film first is when I did not know that it was a book-to-film adaptation.
For example; The Hunger Games. I was dragged to the cinemas by my friends because, at the time, it was THE film to watch as a High Schooler. I enjoyed the film so much that I immediately bought the book to read not too long after (spoiler: The Hunger Games books and film literally made my teenage years. I was obsessed.)
4. What form do you prefer? Audiobook, E-book or physical book?
I don’t mind Audiobooks or e-books, but there’s just something about having the physical copy of a book that brings about a different, irreplaceable reading experience. Maybe its being able to hold, smell and turn the pages of the book that, for some reason, just immerses me even more into the story.
I might also do a dedicated blog post about the different ways to consume books and their numerous formats. Stay tuned!
5. Do you have a unique habit when you read?
I guess my favourite position whilst reading: lying down in bed on my side with the book propped sideways. My mum always questioned why I prefer to read like that instead of sitting up against the headboard or something, but it’s just really comfortable to me.
Lately, I have also been annotating and tabbing my books with sticky notes. I tab quotes, important details, or particular scenes that I really, really like. Annotating and tabbing my books help me write my book reviews easier because I could easily find the pages and refer to them in my reviews.
6. Do book series have to match?
Yes. I’m really particular about things like this– I like the look of matching editions and matching front cover themes– much to my own dismay. There have been numerous times where I have bought another copy of a book that I already have just so it can match the other editions of the series.
And that’s it. 🙂
